About StoreForge

StoreForge exists for one kind of reader: someone who has decided to run a store on software they host themselves — WooCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop or OpenCart — and now has to choose a host for it. That decision is genuinely different from picking hosting for a blog, and most "best ecommerce hosting" lists gloss over the parts that actually matter to a shop.

What we do differently

Three things. First, we print the renewal price next to the intro price on every host, because a store is a business and the renewal is the number you actually run on. Second, we rank on real store capacity — PHP workers and memory for uncacheable checkouts — not on the "unlimited" claims that mislead. Third, we're honest about PCI: a host can be PCI-capable, but compliance is the merchant's responsibility, and we say so plainly instead of implying a plan makes you compliant.

How we research

We do not run load tests or publish benchmarks of our own, and we never claim a speed or uptime figure we didn't measure. Instead we cite providers' published specs and advertised prices — each with the date we read it — and cross-check against named third-party research and reviews. Prices and plan limits in this niche change constantly, so every number is dated and framed as "advertised, verify before you buy." When a fact can't be verified, we label it, rather than guessing.

Independence and scope

StoreForge is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any hosting company we cover; host names and logos, where they appear, are used only nominatively to identify the product. Some outbound links are affiliate links, and if you buy through one the host may pay us a commission at no cost to you — but it never changes a score or a ranking, which is why we recommend a host that pays us nothing (Hetzner) where it's genuinely the right answer. We stick to server hosting for self-hosted stores; hosted platforms like Shopify are a different product and out of our scope. See our affiliate disclosure for the full accounting.
